We're delighted that you're interested in joining Community Cooks. With so many neighbors struggling with food insecurity, it is heartening to enlist more volunteers, allowing us to better serve our communities. New volunteers will be placed on a waitlist, and we will reach out to you once new opportunities become available.
How we work:
Volunteers are assigned to a team that works together to provide one meal per month to a partner agency in Greater Boston. Each team works with a Team Leader, who helps to facilitate schedules, menu assignments, and meal deliveries. Menu assignments rotate each month between team members so you’re not always cooking the same dishes. Cooking takes place at your home or workplace not at the agency. Volunteers must deliver their monthly dish to a drop-off location at the partner agency or to our meal drop-off room in Union Square, Somerville. Deliveries happen Monday through Friday (not on weekends).

We ask that all new volunteers make a four-month minimum commitment.
